Volunteer and Internship Opportunities

Grassroots Media DC Internship Opportunities for the Summer of 2016

Grassroots Media DC is currently seeking three interns to work a flexible part-time schedule during the summer of 2016.  We believe that media production and distribution can and should be used by individuals and not just corporations as a tool for self-empowerment and community advocacy. Our mission has two distinct functions: to provide basic computer and media production training to low-income and working class DC residents and those who advocate on their behalf; and to produce and distribute media that promotes local progressive issues. We are currently seeking interns to work a flexible part-time schedule during the summer of 2016.

Grassroots Media DC offers interns an opportunity to gain basic journalism, digital media and social media marketing skills. Our interns will also gain some insight into the challenges faced by individuals and families in under-served and traditionally oppressed communities. Students with a background or interest in journalism, and in utilizing online media to advance social justice are encouraged to apply.  The deadline to receive your resume and cover letter is May 15, 2016.
